Job Description
This Nurse Manager will be responsible for the managerial oversight of the operating room, Pre-Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and Same Day Surgery unit. This position demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care utilitzing collaborative strategies with patients, family members/significant others, and members of the interdisciplinary team. This Nurse Manager will have direct impact on patient outcomes and staff development.

In addition to routine accountabilities and responsibilities the OR/PACU/SDS Nurse Manager is indirectly accountable to the Hospital Director and Nurse Executive, and is directly accountable to the Deputy Nurse Executive, Patient Services.

The Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for the provision of patient care in the OR/PACU/SDS unit, for the management and supervision of all nursing personnel and support staff as assigned, for the creation of an atmosphere where caring for patients is the foremost concern, and for assurance of optimal orientation and clinical competence of nursing staff.

The Nurse Manager is accountable for ensuring the OR/PACU/ and SDS departments are inspection ready and in regulatory compliance of both internal and external governing agencies.

All nurses are required to serve a probationary period of 2 years.

Must possess a valid, unrestricted nursing license. Must possess a BSN in order to apply for this position.

You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.

After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use.

You must have a certification, licensure, or registration credentials in RN for this position.

You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.

You may need to lift and move heavy items. You may need to stand for prolonged periods on concrete floors and walk over rough and uneven terrain. You may need to bend, stoop, walk, stand, and climb, and work in cramped positions.

Requirements
KEY REQUIREMENTS: -Must possess a BSN Degree from a NLN accredited institution -Must be a Registered Nurse -Must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing management experience -Must have 3 years of successful operating room nursing practice -Effective interpersonal relationship skills, excellent customer service orientation, and proven ability to achieve positive patient outcomes in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment required -Professional experience characterized by initiative, creative problem-solving, strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to gather and analyze data with timely follow through. -Must possess the ability to prioritize quickly. -Must have current ACLS and BLS certifications.
