This high level position will have complete fiscal, clinical and administrative responsibility for 32 operating rooms (running 19), the PACU, Sameday Surgery, Preadmission Testing, Anesthesia and Central Sterile Processing. 200 FTEs report. Ideal candidates will be leaders, with strong business skills, as well as a comprehensive clinical knowledge of perioperative services and cardiac (and lung) transplantation. Experience with robotic surgery, knowledge of electrophysiology procedures and systems like MAZE, is a plus. This individual will have, at least, 5 years of Director level experience in Surgical Services and a proven track record of management success in a large, tertiary medical center. A Bachelors or Masters in Nursing or plans to complete is required. Relevant experience in business development and integration of services, with the ability to manage exponential growth is also important. They will work collaboratively with Administration, Surgeons, Nursing Staff and Anesthesia to improve capacity, efficiency and effectiveness. They will be comfortable with PI methodologies and be data-driven. Ideal candidates will have high standards for clinical excellence, and recognize the power of teamwork.

The Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis campus includes the flagship hospital of the Baptist Memorial Health Care system. Opened in 1979, the hospital is located adjacent to the I-240 loop. The Baptist Heart Institute, located within Baptist Memphis, is dedicated to providing leading-edge cardiovascular research and treatment for heart patients. The Heart Institute, which measures 165,000 square feet, includes areas for cardiovascular procedures, cardiovascular surgical suites, heart catheterization labs, cardiovascular intensive care beds, a cardiac intervention unit, cardiac medicine units, a pre/post cath lab unit, electrophysiology labs, a cardiopulmonary transplant unit and a cardiovascular step-down unit. The Ford-Goltman Clinical Research Center, also located in the Heart Institute, is a specialized unit dedicated to providing care for clinical research patients.
Baptist Memphis also operates the Plaza Diagnostic Pavilion, an outpatient facility that handles more than 10,000 outpatient visits a month and centralizes many of the hospital's outpatient services. In addition, the Pediatric Outpatient Center (P.D.'s Perch) sees more than 800 patients a month.
