The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/University of Miami Hospital has an opportunity available for an Associate Vice President of Surgical Services. The Associate Vice President of Surgical Services will be responsible for twenty-four (24) hours a day for the total operation of the Division by exerting a leadership role which supports the hospital, mission, vision, goals and objectives while focusing on the patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and the community as customers.

 

Ensures continuous and timely availability of inpatient/outpatient; assures current research and community standards of care/practice is integrated into work process; Nursing Standard of Care/Practice are current, appropriate and consistently applied in areas of responsibility. Assigns and evaluates performance of nursing staff in Continuous Performance Improvement. Actively participation in hospital-wide Continuous Performance Improvement program. Collaborates with hospital leaders in development refinement of patient care services. Provides leadership in the accomplishment of Corporate, Hospital, and Nursing Mission, and Strategic Plans. Applies underlying principles of all applicable JCAHO Standards to guide practice in areas of responsibilities.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Masters in Nursing Healthcare Administration or Business Administration.   Five years of relevant experience to include leadership role.  Current Florida Nursing License, CPR, BLS, ACLS, HIV, Domestic Violence and Medical Errors. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications will be considered.
