Job Description
Provide comprehensive education and continuing educational support to the ACS NSQIP Surgical Clinical Reviewers. This includes training for the reliable collection and submission of data as well as acting as on-going clinical educator and mentor. This will be accomplished through maintenance and/or development of operational manuals, online training modules, practice case studies, managing virtual large group learning activities and providing support through out the program's quality improvement continuum.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Manage all program clinical content including learning modules, operation manuals, website, and other learning media to provide ongoing training/development of the Surgical Clinical Reviewers. 2. Develop, implement and conduct training including management of the Nursing CEU process. 3. Overall management and execution of certification and recertification training program including the evaluation of program audits to ensure data integrity and program requirements. 4. Develop and maintain program orientation for Surgeon Champions, provide clinical expertise as key participant in the Data Definitions Committee, and act as liaison with vendors regarding clinical content. 5. Lead clinical development team as needed and provide guidance to clinical support staff.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Ability to manage a complex, multi-institutional program independently; accurate and efficient in organization of numerous details with ability to analyze and summarize information, establish priorities; Experience in systems implementation, using clinical skills in conjunction with ability to analyze business requirements. Two years experience in both a hospital surgery department or clinic and clinical research or quality improvement. Prior clinical chart review and abstraction experience. Experience with quality improvement or patient safety knowledge preferred. Experience in curriculum development and training programs. Experience in establishing initial and on-going certification programs. Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access; capable of learning and applying other software applications as necessary. Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization and ability to build relationships. Strong presentation skills; management experience preferred; basic statistical knowledge required; minimal travel required.
