ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following functions have been determined by Ideal Option to be essential to the successful performance of this position which includes but is not limited to:

  • Monitor patient chart activity in eCW for locking and co-signing charts by provider In office assessments of patients to determine appropriateness of office-based buprenorphine therapy
    1. Obtain History of present illness, past medical history, current medications, and allergies
    2. Perform review of systems
    3. Perform complete physical examinations
    4. Establish diagnosis and develop appropriate plans for treatment
    5. Refer patients for appropriate counseling
    6. Daily co-sign patient charts
  • Induction of patients onto buprenorphine
    1. Once assessment has been complete, often the next step is induction onto buprenorphine
    2. Patient must be in mild to moderate withdrawals, ARNP will determine correct level of withdrawals before starting induction
    3. Manage gradual induction onto the appropriate dose of buprenorphine
    4. Assess for any immediate negative side effects
  • Follow up and Maintenance Evaluations
    1. Follow up recently induced patients to determine current state on buprenorphine
    2. Perform clinical evaluations of patients on an ongoing and periodic basis to be determined by physician
    3. Obtain and interpret appropriate lab data
    4. Follows appropriate guidelines and use of telehealth communications with each patient and office
  • Represents Ideal Option professionally and with a positive attitude
  • Complies with national PHI laws including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
  • Maintains continual sustained attendance and participates as an Ideal Option team member in their assigned clinic and throughout the company

  • Master’s degree
  • Active ARNP License
  • Active state licensure or ability to obtain upon hire


  • General office environment: Works generally at a desk in a well-lighted, air-conditioned cubicle/office, with moderate noise levels
  • Periods of stress may occur
  • Infrequent periods of travel may be required


  • Activities require a significant amount of sitting at office and work desks and in front of a computer monitor
  • Some walking and standing relative to interaction with other personnel
  • Hearing and talking
