Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center in St. Charles, IL opened in October 1987 as the first licensed outpatient surgery center in Kane County and the first free standing surgery center in the state of Illinois. Since then, over 110,000 patients have chosen the center for their surgical needs. Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center (VASC) is uniquely qualified to address the needs of its patients. VASC has over 160 area surgeons on staff and furnishes surgical services for over 1,000 different procedures for both outpatient and more complex surgeries, which require a stay at Valley Medical Inn. VASC provides services in Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Ear/Nose/Throat, General Surgery, Podiatry, Urology, Pediatric Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopedic Surgery including Total Joint Replacements, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Oral Surgery, Dentistry and Interventional Pain Management. Most surgical procedures which previously involved a hospital stay can be performed at VASC for about half the cost. At VASC each patient is treated in a professional and courteous manner, and the staff is committed to providing a stress free, efficient and pleasant experience for our surgeons. VASC enjoys an excellent reputation among doctors and patients alike, receiving consistently high remarks from patient satisfaction surveys and earning several community and business awards throughout the years. Valley Medical Inn, a post-surgical recovery care center adjacent to Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center, was opened in 1997. This nine-bed facility offers an alternative to hospitalization for patients needing additional time to recover from surgery. Stays can be as short as 23 hours or as long as 72 hours. The “Bed and Breakfast” atmosphere of VMI provides the patient with the medical care in a more relaxed and personal environment. Private nursing care, catered meals and hotel quality amenities serve to reduce the patient’s stress and speed recovery.
